It’s no surprise that designer Betsy Brother’s favorite color is ruby red. This 60s girl goes ga-ga over luxurious designer fabrics with vintage flair from around the world.
Betsy’s life-long passion for fabrics and handmade designs of all kinds shows in her latest line of belts and t-shirts that perfectly compliment every girl’s wardrobe, as well as in her hippest-kid-on-the-block, retro-quilted baby blankets.
“With three sons and a husband, I’m surrounded by boys,” noted Betsy. “Vintage Ruby is my girly outlet. And while I can’t buy clothes for little girls, I certainly can make them!” As you can see, Betsy has loved groovy belts since 1975!
Most days (and nights) you can find Betsy at her sewing machine. During her other waking hours she can be found at a hockey rink, sledding with her three boys, or in the kitchen baking and cooking. Her long list of hobbies and fascinations include computers, photography, yoga, decorating, flea markets, biking, the Red Sox (naturally), book club, and all things edible (especially praline pecans). Spending too many hours each day in her car and a messy house leaves her seeing red!
Even in her free time, Betsy is always on the go — traveling around the world and vacationing (and, of course, shopping) on Martha’s Vineyard with her husband and family.
